Car Paint Protection People Mover: $265 |
The Tintplus Super Ultimate Infinity Platimum Paint Protection System, with GLUMP (developed by NASA). What a joke!
We could have thought up a grand sounding name for our paint protection like the new car dealers and developed expensive glossy brochures filled with superlatives to justify a high price.
We use CarGroomers "dealer" paint and interior protection products. Why? Because they work and are the same products that over half the new car dealers in Brisbane use (the dealers just rename the CarGroomers products to something grander - if you need convincing just walk around the dealer’s pre-delivery area - look like you are meant to be there and you won't be challenged - and you will most likely see the CarGroomers 20Litre Pro F Paint Protection containers on the shelf – despite the fancy name on the glossy brochure.
For the tehnically inclined, CarGroomers state that the "Cargroomers Pro F paint Protection was developed for new cars with good paint. Pro F contains fluoropolymers, resins and carnauba wax .It gives the best protection against oxidisation, industrial fallout, bird droppings and tree sap on urethane clear coat, lacquer or enamel paints, by bonding the flouropolymers to the paint surface

Electronic Rust Protection only People Mover: $410 |
We use Corrosion Guard which is a microprocessor controlled electronic device that uses proven electro-chemical principles to greatly reduce rust and corrosion in all vehicles. For the technically inclined. To understand the process of impressed current cathodic protection, it is necessary to understand why the metal components of a vehicle tend to rust. In summary, the metal used in the construction of vehicles contains a mass of electrons that carry opposing positive and negative charges, known as cathodes and anodes. As the laws of physics dictate, opposites attract. If moisture is present, it becomes an electrolyte that forms a bridge or path that allows these charged particles to interact. This results in the free electrons from the cathodes attacking the anodes, causing the process commonly known as corrosion or rust. The process is further accelerated in coastal areas due to the high salt concentrations in water, making it a better conductor. The anodes are in fact, “giving up” free ions that form iron oxide (rust). Using the method of impressed current cathodic protection utilized by Corrosion Guard, an accurately controlled stream of charged ions (in the form of a direct current) flows to externally situated anodes in selected areas of the vehicle. These anodes carry a positive charge when compared to the earthed metal components of the vehicle. This supply affords an excess of charged particles, effectively diverting rust away from the body of the vehicle to the "sacrifical" anodes. |

Why choose Tintplus?
The products we now supply to the public are the same (or improved) products that we supplied to new car dealerships for over 10 years.
Please don’t be taken in by impressively named products offered by the dealership - in the workshop it is just paint protection or fabric protection and there is very little difference in performance between brands despite the best marketing attempts to achieve product differentiation.
For example, to exploit community concern about skin cancer, many car dealerships now offer customers a “special” sun smart window film endorsed by the Cancer Council at a much higher price to other films.
- These "special" films have a SPF (skin protection factor) rating of 50+. This means the film will block over 50% of the sun's damaging UV rays and sounds very impressive when compared to sun screen lotions. BUT all window tint film sold in Australia will block 98%-99% of the UV rays (even low quality films).
... so, if you want to support the good work of the Cancer Council, give them a donation
Don't be deceived.
The purchase of a new motor vehicle is a major investment and most people want to protect their car’s resale value, which is why “New Car Protection” has long been one of the most popular after-market accessories. However, as the car dealer price approaches $2000 (or more) many new car buyers are deciding that new car protection no longer offers them value for money.
New Car Dealers typically resell the products and services of other companies and take their mark-up - and the State Government takes its cut through stamp duty as well.
Tintplus aims to assist customers legally avoid Sales Tax and the car dealer mark-up and provide a value for money service.
For the cost of a local call, many new car buyers are choosing to phone a local supplier themselves and they often find they can get similar quality products (often the same product under a different name) at a substantial saving.
Some new car buyers may choose a higher quality product than that supplied by the dealership and find they can still save money. How? Because the dealerships negotiate volume discounts with local suppliers, and this forces the suppliers to reduce costs (which usually means lower quality).
For example,
- Tintplus provided a window tinting and vehicle protection service to new car dealers in Springwood and Mt Gravatt for over 10 years. Tintplus decided to close its Dealership Division in 2007 when one of the dealers advised that the dealership would only pay $120 a car for supply AND installation of window tinting. Since we were already supplying the dealership the cheapest film we could source from the USA, we decided it would damage our reputation to import lower quality film from Asia in order to meet the dealers new price point.
- Tintplus now supplies its window tinting and vehicle protection service directly to the public - at a substantial saving to customers on the typical dealer price.
- Our top of the range window tint is $395 - a saving of $100 on the typical dealership price of $495.
- Alternatively, our customers could save $300 on the typical dealer price if they chose our cheapest film ($195), safe in the knowledge that even this film is likely to be of similar, or higher, quality to the films supplied by many new car dealerships.
We would like to claim that such savings can only be obtained from Tintplus, but it would not be true.
Most new car accessories can be sourced by customers directly from a local supplier at a substantial saving on the stamp duty inclusive dealership price (often the same supplier used by the new car dealer - unless the dealership has imposed a no-competition agreement with the supplier)
Shop around and compare prices and you will save money on the car dealer inflated price.
